Continuing Updates


Hello Everyone!

First things first, I want to thank everyone who has played the game and given me valuable feedback. I've received praise, critique, and bug reports, and I value it all immensely. I really hadn't planned on continuing to develop this game, but I've had a really good time with it, and apparently so have a few others, so I'm going to continue to develop it on stream. As a reminder, you can stop by the stream if you want to chat game dev or just hang out. I have some short term plans, and maybe even some longer term plans for what comes next for Witch's Brew, but here is the list of changes you can expect in the next update, which I hope to have done by the end of next week:

  • Brewing system overhaul: Item order will no longer matter, more effects will be applied to show what you've brewed, and spell books with recipes will drop around the map to help you learn exactly what to brew up.
  • Enemy Enhancements: Watching my non-gamer wife play over 15 rounds of the game made me realize enemies are a little too easy to dispatch, especially when standing in safe spots. Enemy stats, colliders, and spawn areas will be tweaked to add difficulty.
  • Controller Support: I will be adding controller support for the downloadable version
  • Mac build: A mac compatible downloadable build
  • Bug fixes: Round logic has a bug that allows the player to skip rounds after brewing a couple potions. This will be fixed in the next update.

As for other changes, I'm going to get some actual art for the game and the itch page, and maybe try and market it a little more. Screenshots, and maybe even a trailer should be coming soon. As for longer term plans, I have quite a few other features I'd like to add, but those will be for a future dev log. For now, enjoy Witch's Brew! HEHEHE!
